Young professionals from multiple industries throughout the Houston region will be recognized for their contributions to the Houston business community at the third annual HYPE Impact Awards on Thursday, November 14.
The 2019 HYPE Impact Award nominees in the category of Emerging Leader are outstanding young professionals and entrepreneurs that have made an impact through innovative ideas early in their career. This award recognizes an inspiring young professional age 21-30 years old that demonstrates an outstanding spirit and shows strategic direction.
The Partnership's HYPE (Houston Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs) program is honored to announce this year's Impact Award nominees for Emerging Leader.
Since joining HP in 2014, Cedric quickly demonstrated leadership through various activities and initiatives. Cedric also serves as the Intern Coordinator Lead at HP. Under his leadership, the HP Houston Internship program has been recognized as best in class program for all of HP. While attending the University of Houston, Cedric served as Student Body President for two consecutive years and was honored by the university with the creation of the Cedric Bandoh Distinguished Leadership Award.
Shehan's peers consider him a visionary and as someone who truly focuses on the "big picture." He continually challenges himself and his colleagues to make an impact on a larger scale. As a successful entrepreneur and co-founder of JAG Argueta, his goal is to infuse talent, investor networks and ideology into the Houston tech startup community. Shehan has been welcomed as a panelist and guest speaker at multiple conferences and events and was the recipient of the 2019 Outstanding CPA of the Year Award.
Throughout her time working at the Economic Alliance, Kaitlyn's commitment to the organization and her assigned tasks has been second to none. She has a remarkable ability to see the big picture and work towards positive outcomes beyond daily tasks and continually seeks out opportunities that will continue her career development. In her spare time, Kaitlyn is actively involved in the community, volunteering her time at multiple professional development associations and charitable organizations.
Through her work ethic and leadership, Taylor has created a strong career with Amegy Bank. In addition to her daily job duties, she sits on the leadership team of Amegy's African American Business Resource Group and serves on the workforce committee for Amegy's Women's Resource Group. Taylor is a consistent advocate for diversity and inclusion and collaborates with Amegy's Diversity and Inclusion Council to ensure all employees feel valued and given opportunities to advance. She also volunteers her time outside of work at numerous charities around Houston.
In his role as general manager, Djuan strives to improve AIOBM LLC by implementing new ideas and ensuring quality customer service. After Hurricane Harvey hit Houston, Djuan partnered with the City of Houston Community Redevelopment Corporation to help repair homes severely damaged in the storm. He has also mentored fellow employees to assist them in receiving certifications from the City of Houston's Small Business and Minority Business Enterprises.
Chandani took the role of managing the daily operations of the 30-year company during a difficult time. She was able to rebuild the leadership team from the ground up and lead the company back to success with undeniable energy. Her thirst for knowledge will allow her to grow Radia Enterprises into the multi-million dollar company that she knows that it can become.
Ali's hunger for success started at a very early age. As President and COO of Dhanani Private Equity Group, he partners with CEOs, executives and investors to grow their investments and professional brands. Ali's undeniable drive, strong work ethic and desire to leave his mark all over the city through his development and investment projects have aided him in his impressive career growth.
In his role as a civil engineer for Texas-based engineering firm, KIT Professionals, Corey was proud to help lead the Northeast Water Purification Plant Expansion project. This project was at the time, the largest water treatment expansion in the world, and featured a much-needed upgrade to the City of Houston's water infrastructure. Motivated by the events of Hurricane Harvey, he is passionate about raising awareness of the importance of effective infrastructure is to a city's safety and sustainability. In his free time, Corey is an active member of his local professional society, the American WaterWorks Association (AWWA).
During her career with the HCA Healthcare System, Peyton has continuously exemplified the HCA culture of caring with both her colleagues and the community. She embraces the diversity of her team and has a dedication to mentoring them on their career growth plans. Outside of HCA, Peyton is a mentor to children at homeless shelters and volunteers her time at various organizations around the city.
